Home Support Guides Phone Unwelcome Calls

Unwelcome Calls PDF Print E-mail

If you are receiving UnWelcome calls on your phone service,

we can enable what is called "Malicious Call Trace"

This involves enabling the feature on our servers

The Malicious Call Trace does not provide you with the number of the caller - instead, the main purpose is to track the caller, & Telstra then serves them a legal notice to stop.

Once the service is activated;

if you should receive another malicious call, you need to record the time & date of the call, & leave the telephone's handset off the hook for 10 mins

Then, you notify us of the time & date of the call & we liaise with our upstream provider

We need to collect a minimum of 3 successfully traced calls, after this a legal letter can be sent to the legal lessee of the line.

The 1st month of the trace feature is free, any further use may incur charges.

If it is your intent to identify the caller, your best option may be to involve the Police.
