Written by Mike Lockie

Suddenly lost the ability to send emails?

Suddenly lost the ability to connect to the net?

Have Trend Micro Security program?

Just got an Office or Windows update?

Then there is a very good chance that Trend Micro is blocking the newly modified windows, or email, or web browser programs from connecting.

The easy way to fix this is to just create a new firewall profile in Trend Micro

Here's how

To change the current Personal Firewall Profile

From the main console
1. Open the Trend Micro Internet Security main console by doing any of the following:
• Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Trend Micro Internet Security > Trend Micro Internet Security.
• Double-click the Trend Micro Internet Security icon EN-1038329-1on the lower right corner of your screen.

2. Click Personal Firewall Controls on the left panel.

5. Under Profile Name, select the Personal Firewall Profile you want to activate, then click Activate selected profile.

Its best at this point to just create a new profile with default settings

Click on Add

Call the new profile the month & year - say july2010

save it

Then select it from the list under profile name

& activate it

6. Click OK twice.

7. Close the Trend Micro Internet Security main console.

Then restart your computer & you should again be able to connect to the Internet / email
